One of my favourites in the paneer dishes. In this the paneer and peas are smothered in a rich creamy tomato gravy and is usually what we order in restaurants. This is my feeble attempt to duplicate it at home
Since it has the reddish colour of the gravy alongwith the white paneer pieces and the green peas, representing the three colours of the Indian Flag, I am sending this to Pooja and also to Srivalli for their respective events. And one of my readers and a blogger friend Pooh has decided to try this out at home and post the results on her blog. I hope its as good as she expects
I cant wait for the feedback!
Ingredients:
1 cup paneer cubes
1 cup peas
2 and half cups tomato puree
1 onion sliced
1 green chilli finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
3 tbsp butter
4 cloves
2 cardamoms
1 cinnamon stick
1 bay leaf
6 peppercorns
1 tsp garam masala powder
1 tsp jeera
Half cup heavy cream
salt to taste
Method:
Heat butter on medium flame and add the cloves, cinnamon stick, peppercorns, bayleaf and cardamom pods.
After they heat up add the jeera, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Stir for about 10 seconds.
Then add the sliced onions and stir till they turn transluscent.
Add the tomato puree, garam masala powder and salt and bring it to a boil. Add the peas and cook till done.
Then add the paneer pieces and bring to a boil. You can saute’ the paneer pieces in a little oil before adding it to the gravy.
Add the heavy cream, stir well and simmer on low for about 2 minutes.
Serve hot with puris.
PS: I am sending this to Pooja for the “Independence Day” event.

I am also sending this to Srivalli for the “Curry Mela“

Srivalli: You are welcome
Sejal: I think it should be sufficient for 6 people. But then again I usually cook without any specific measurements. If I think it will be less then I add more tomato puree.
