1) Naan & Kabob (Los Angeles,CA)
If you are ever in Los Angeles, this is a place I would recommend.I love kababs and this place simply has the most tasty kababs I ever tasted. It is a small diner like place tucked away in a nondescript corner over here. The meat pieces are always perfectly cooked, perfectly spiced and amazingly moist. We used to go there every other weekend and order the same thing every single time. The waiter there knew us so well that as soon as he came to the table to take our order,he would ask us, “Should I get 2 Chicken Sultani’s”
We have tried a couple of other dishes over time but Chicken Sultani was our all time favourite. The beef sultani as well as lamb kababs are worth a try too. It is a a few miles away from Disneyland. So if you are in the area just drop by. Last time we were in LA we met up with friends for lunch. The pic below is Chicken Sultani.

2) Falafel’s Drive-in (San Jose , CA)
I am a big Food Network fan.Whenever there are no interesting sitcoms going on,I end up watching Food Network. It was one of those days when I happened to catch Diners,Drive-ins and dives. It was featuring a falafel place in San Jose and all the customers as well as the host were raving about the delicious falafels on the menu.My interest was piqued and I promptly told my husband I wanted to eat there one of these days. And so last week on a sunny Friday we drove down to San Jose and almost missed the place. We were expecting a drive-in place with a huge sign but this was a humble diner with many shops around it and so it was easy to miss.
Though the name says Drive-in it is not so.You have to park the car on the street or the parking lot behind the diner.I dont think it is possible to get parking in the lot as it is always full.We parked our car on the street and walked to the front of the shop where you have to place the order only to be greeted by a big line. The place seemed to be very popular and the line never ending. We finally placed an order for a meal deal of 2 falafels with banana shakes and a side order of pita chips. We hardly sat down and our order was ready.

I bit into the falafel sandwich and it was heaven. It was the best falafel I had and I gobbled it down in no time. The banana shake was very thick and absolutely delicious!!! The pita chips were yummy and crispy and I tasted it for the first time. The sandwiches are filled to the rim with falafels, salad, tahini sauce and a special red sauce. The combination just hits your taste buds full throttle and we enjoyed our meal immensely.I have heard the meat dishes are good too but when the name of the place says Falafel Drive-in…..I am not going to order some other dish.Hey,why mess up something which is so good!! If you get a chance you should try this place. Its worth every cent ![]()
